The FY 2019 Cooperating Technical Partners (CTP) Program in Region 6 aims to enhance the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) by building strong partnerships among federal, state, tribal, regional, and local entities. This initiative seeks to reduce flood losses and improve community resilience by providing federal grants or cooperative agreements to qualified Cooperating Technical Partners (CTPs). The program supports activities that help NFIP State Coordinating Agencies and participating communities fulfill their regulatory responsibilities and mitigate flood risks.
Eligible CTPs must hold a signed Partnership Agreement with FEMA, represent communities in good standing within the NFIP, and have established systems for collecting and communicating flood-related data. They should also show the capability to complete funded activities and maintain up-to-date project information in the Mapping Information Platform (MIP).
FEMA plans to provide technical assistance, training, and data to support the CTPs in their projects. Funding from FEMA is intended to complement resources and data provided by the CTPs. Awarded partners must comply with specific requirements, reporting metrics, and adhere to the terms of their agreements with FEMA.
